Chapter 1: Unlikely Friendships

Today is Day Two of my kindness journey, and since I wasn’t at work, I didn’t have the chance for face-to-face encounters with many strangers. However, I do have an inspiring story about an incredible stranger who quickly transformed from an unknown individual into a close friend. This remarkable person is @awesomelyadept — you should definitely check her out; she's fantastic!

Our connection began through a comment on a Medium article, which led to a delightful exchange where we started to get to know each other. In a nutshell, we’ve decided to embark on an exciting venture to create a Beer Tour company and even draft a screenplay for a movie and a TV series. Not too shabby for just 24 hours of friendship!

The small act of kindness that made a significant impact was her taking the time to reply and engage in conversation with me. Given that my self-esteem is a bit low at the moment, her willingness to chat was a much-needed boost. I truly valued our interaction; it genuinely brightened my day!

Later on, I posted a message on Twitter seeking writers interested in contributing to my ‘Kindness Of Strangers’ publication. She promptly responded with encouragement, showcasing her kindness further. How fortunate am I to have crossed paths with such a generous spirit?

I feel incredibly thankful for the supportive community I’ve found on Twitter and CoSo, as I mentioned in my previous post.

Section 1.1: A Thoughtful Gesture

For my next act of kindness, I plan to anonymously purchase a book by one of the authors I admire on Twitter and read it, ensuring I leave them a positive review. Many writers on the platform invest tremendous effort into promoting their work, often over long periods. I thought this would be a meaningful way to contribute to their journey as my random act of kindness for Day Two.

While I may not be changing the world just yet, I am ending the day knowing I’ve made it a little brighter than it was when I started.
