Reflecting on a Month of Self-Care: A Journey So Far
Written on
Chapter 1: The Start of My Self-Care Adventure
It’s hard to believe that an entire month has passed since I embarked on this self-care journey! Just yesterday, I found myself worrying about the years that have flown by and what the future holds. Without prioritizing self-care, the outlook seemed quite disheartening—especially at 40. Picturing myself at 50 or 60 felt overwhelming.
Thus, my journey commenced.
The initial step was inspired by insights from Dr. Tara Swart, a renowned neuroscientist, who shared valuable habits for nurturing brain health and overall well-being. This wisdom became the cornerstone for our exploration.
However, it soon became clear that I had overlooked a vital aspect—something foundational that would support every subsequent habit.
This realization shifted my perspective dramatically. Self-care entered a new phase of growth!
Section 1.1: Adapting My Approach
From the outset, I recognized that my methods might not resonate with everyone, and every approach I encounter is likely to require adjustments over time. Nevertheless, the groundwork laid in this self-care journey allowed me to explore new avenues while sharing my experiences with others—a departure from my past practices.
Making the decision to include others in my journey was pivotal. I began offering one free post each week to spark interest. The paid articles aim to encourage readers to reach out at [email protected], but it’s essential for potential readers to see something engaging first. I’m still navigating this balance—self-care takes precedence over marketing! However, I’m optimistic about improving in both areas over time.
Subsection 1.1.1: Discovering New Resources
In committing to weekly writing, I’ve stumbled upon fascinating resources, including a neuroscientist who suggested abandoning traditional goals to boost motivation—an unexpected yet enlightening perspective! Content creation has turned out to be a form of self-care for me, allowing bursts of creativity to translate into scheduled posts, creating an illusion of consistency.
Spoiler alert: I typically draft most of my articles early in the week! Weekends tend to be less productive, so I reserve those days for final edits or publishing.
Shortly after, I encountered Mark Manson’s insights, which aligned with about half of my existing habits—an encouraging realization that I wasn’t starting from scratch.
It’s been enlightening to recognize how beneficial this journey has been for me. Your presence has inspired me to grow and learn more than ever, and I’m truly grateful for it!
Chapter 2: Navigating Life's Disruptions
Recently, I took a trip to honor someone who had passed away. Thankfully, I had over a week’s notice to prepare for a smooth return. While it might take me a bit to regain my pre-trip rhythm, I hope the continuity of my journey remains visible to you.
The trip itself served as a vital self-care experience, forcing me to confront aspects of my Ego that I hadn’t fully understood. It was a pivotal moment for reflection.
As I processed this new perspective, I shared self-care strategies that aided me during the trip and assisted in my swift recovery afterward. However, overcoming the challenges posed by my Ego has proven to be a different endeavor altogether!
Section 2.1: Confronting My Ego
As the month came to a close, the guidance was clear: face the narratives of my Ego for what they are—mere stories. Engaging with my entire self has emerged as the next logical step toward effective self-care. Even the upcoming holiday season is set to benefit from this approach, as I intend to harness the spirit of community to enhance my happiness!
What a whirlwind of a month it has been!
The first video titled "How to Make One Month of Meals in Just 1 Day!" demonstrates how to prepare meals efficiently, enhancing your self-care routine by simplifying cooking.
The second video titled "How To Finish One Month of Work Today" offers strategies to optimize productivity, helping you stay on track with your self-care goals.
Section 2.2: Looking Ahead to December
Each moment of this self-care journey has been enriched by embracing the present rather than over-planning. What I believe I need today might not align with my actual desires tomorrow. Therefore, I plan to continue taking things as they come and will keep you updated along the way.
That said, with the upcoming month focusing on relationships, I aim to deepen my connections with those around me. It’s not the right time for new relationships—though I welcome emails from new readers! Instead, I’ll dedicate this time to nurturing existing bonds. After all, the holidays are about love and togetherness.
This approach will provide a solid foundation for maintaining my current habits while prioritizing my relationships—a bit of a balancing act, but I believe it’s achievable!
Section 2.3: A Shift in Posting Frequency
Moving forward, I may not consistently publish articles every Wednesday. While my commitment to self-care remains steadfast, I’m easing the obligation of writing three posts weekly. It will be interesting to see how this shift impacts the journey.
Have you enjoyed this adventure so far? What do you think about my focus for the upcoming month? I plan to incorporate additional topics—any suggestions you’d like to explore? Also, how has your self-care journey fared over the last month? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
Until next time, remember to prioritize your own well-being!
