While heartwarming stories of reconnection flourished, I remained a skeptic, resisting the trend. Eventually, I participated in a couple of challenging Zoom sessions with distant relatives, only to realize I suffered from what I now call "resting Zoom face." This term describes the struggle to hide disinterest during video calls, where your expressions can betray your true feelings.

As virtual interactions grew, I found myself on more Zoom calls for work and socializing. Through this experience, I developed a few strategies to mask my aversion to video calls, which I hope will help others facing similar challenges.

Though I find video calls less than enjoyable, by employing these strategies, I can navigate them more effectively without revealing my true feelings. It’s essential to adapt and create the best environment possible under these circumstances.
