My perspective on success diverges from the conventional corporate viewpoint; I believe that each individual has a unique interpretation of success. Nonetheless, I have clarity on what success means to me and wish to share insights that could resonate across various definitions of achievement.
A straightforward way to articulate a fundamental secret of success is this:
Identify your weaknesses—those challenges you encounter when initiating, maintaining, or completing tasks. Analyze these areas and devise a system that streamlines your efforts, reducing obstacles and minimizing decision fatigue.
For those grappling with executive function, such as individuals with ADHD, this understanding is crucial. Establishing systems to manage these difficulties can profoundly influence outcomes. Let's delve deeper into what my “simple” advice entails.
Section 1.1: Identifying and Understanding Weaknesses
Personally, I often experience mental blocks at the onset of projects, particularly during the planning and interpretation phases. It's essential for me to have a clear rationale for my endeavors.
Weaknesses often manifest as executive function challenges. Do you find yourself frequently forgetting tasks? Is organization a struggle? Do you have difficulty managing time? Is initiating or concluding tasks a challenge?

What solutions exist for your specific weaknesses? In my case, when embarking on new projects, I draft a brief narrative outlining my objectives. This exercise clarifies what I aim to achieve and visualizes the completion of the task. Typically, this is a concise overview that serves as a foundation for further planning.
Numerous strategies can address various executive function hurdles. If forgetfulness is an issue, create a reliable system for jotting down notes. For organizational difficulties, establish a consistent framework that you apply universally. Struggling with time management? Try utilizing Pomodoro timers or calendars. If finalizing projects poses a challenge, identify a reward for completion or outline the final steps early on to create a checklist.
