Expand Your Network: Connect with Fellow Writers on Discord

Chapter 1: The Challenge of Writing Alone

Writing on platforms like Medium can often feel isolating. For quite some time, I experienced the sensation of sending my words into an empty space. However, everything changed when I stumbled upon a Discord server tailored for Medium writers. This discovery led me to find several more.

After spending some time engaging in these communities, I've put together a list of my top four Discord servers dedicated to Medium writers. While you don’t need to join all of them, I highly encourage you to sign up for at least one.

These servers are managed by the creators of various publications, and you don’t need to contribute to their publications to participate. Here are my recommendations:

Section 1.1: Short/Long Community

This server is run by Martynas Ki (@strangecash) and Justina Ki, who manage two publications: Short. Sweet. Valuable and Long. Sweet. Valuable.

Both publications welcome new writers, and you can join through these links: short, long. This group is my personal favorite.

Martynas and Justina are exceptionally welcoming and consistently foster a lively daily chat. Additionally, they feature a Priority Queue channel for their publications. When I submit an article and share my draft link, they often publish it within a couple of hours—it's truly remarkable!

Subsection 1.1.1: Spiritual Insights at The Taoist Online

The Taoist Online, founded by Patrick Stewart, is always on the lookout for writers.

Similar to Short/Long, joining this group doesn’t require you to be a member of TTO. However, the discussions often revolve around spirituality. If you write in this niche, Patrick is currently developing a website and offers payment for articles. For further details, don’t hesitate to join his Discord.

Section 1.2: Networking at Medium Writers Club

Oscar Soto ⚡, the creator of "How to Increase Your Followers Number," established this Discord, where I’ve formed valuable friendships with fellow writers. It serves as an excellent networking platform.

Chapter 2: The Casual Vibe of Medium Members Community

This casual group was created by Robin Wilding 💎.

It stands out as the most relaxed Discord on my list. Although discussions usually touch on Medium-related topics, the atmosphere is much less formal compared to the others. It also boasts the highest level of activity.

Within this server, there are channels dedicated to various Medium publications, granting you direct access to editors and creators from over 15 publications. If you have questions or wish to join a publication, simply send a message to inquire.

While I wouldn’t say I’m extremely active in these chats, I like to keep tabs and occasionally contribute. It’s an excellent resource for getting answers to any questions about Medium and staying updated on platform changes.

I strongly recommend joining at least one of these communities to see what you discover. You might be pleasantly surprised!
